A mythical trip

Easter Sunday we made a trip to “Frau Holle Teich” (Mother Holle/Hulda-Pond) on mountain “Hoher Meißner”.
Mother Holle is a famous character in Fairy Tales of Brothers Grimm.
This pond is a mythic location:
Legend tells the pond is indefinitely deep and it`s the entrance to her subterraneous empire.
Also, legends tell that – at noontime – Mother Holle is having a bath (as a young beautiful woman) in the middle of the pond, sometimes seducing travellers or hunters.
But we only met the nice wooden statue made by Viktor Donhauser: 🙂

And someone else crossed our path on the way to the water:

After a short posing for my camera we thanked to the patient newt and put him directly to his fellows in the water.
